Get Off Your Sexy Ass!

And MOVE!

I’ve turned a corner finally.  This past month, (well, months, but this past one in particular) has been hard for me.  My mini surgery and 20 stitches in my side put a major damper in my workout routine.  I couldn’t run.  I couldn’t twist my upper body in either direction.  I couldn’t extend my left arm to reach the turn signal in my car without feeling the stitches pull on my left side rib area.  In short, it sucked.

I’ve spent weeks being envious of everyone I’ve seen outside playing and running in this gorgeous weather. 
I had my stitches taken out last week and my incision seems to be healing pretty quickly.  So quickly in fact, that today I’m going to try running again and see if I feel anything move or pull.   Hopefully I’m all good now.

You don’t always appreciate what you are able to do on a daily basis with your body, until, for one reason or another, you can’t…and then suddenly it’s all you want to do.  I’m pretty sure I’m going to run until I pass out for the next few days since I’ve been workout deprived.

So for all you perfectly healthy and non-injured people who are just chilling on their couch eating chips and watching tv when it’s beautiful out, do me a favor, seriously, and get off your ass and move.  Cause you CAN.  Our bodies were meant to walk and run and play and makeout and wait…workout (that’s what I meant)  so GO DO IT.  Just do it. Stop thinking about it and do it.  Because I was jealous of your ability to do it for the past month when I couldn’t.  So technically, you owe me. 

Don’t worry about me, I’ll probably run a marathon in the next 3 days to make up for what I missed, but you REALLY NEED TO GET OFF YOUR ASS.  Turn the computer/tv/crackberry/iphone/technology worm hole off and move.  Walk, jog, yoga, kick the can, laser tag, ride your bike, paintball, basketball, gym it, whatever.  Life is short.  You don’t know how many more tomorrow’s you are going to be handed. 

So do it today.
