A Raw and Sexy Lifestyle

You may have noticed that my blog is changing shape a bit…but that makes perfect sense seeing as how I am changing right along with it.  I want my blog to be more of a lifestyle blog that focuses on overall health, nutrition, fitness, and how to achieve it in the best possible ways.  I will still be writing about raw foods and sharing recipes etc, but I am changing my blog to be more of a reflection of my lifestyle, and not just solely about raw foods.  After all, a balanced healthy happy life is what we are all

Oh Stanley

I love Stanley.Stanley is my amazing green thermos sitting here on my desk. Stanley holds 32 ounces and keeps your beverage cold or hot for 24 hours!  I also own Stanley’s big brother, who is 64 ounces, and keeps things cold for up to 32 hours!  And when I say cold, I mean COLD.  Cold like it just-came-out-of-the-fridge cold.  I bring Stanley to work with me on a regular basis.  He holds my green juice, smoothies and soups!  This morning he’s carrying my banana, strawberry, spinach, almond milk smoothie.  YUM.I think everyone should have a Stanley.  But you’ll have to get your

Staying Healthy at Work

I work in an office.  Have you seen the movie Office Space?  It’s kind of like that, minus the TPS reports.  I’ve been very close to taking a baseball bat to the printer on several occasions, and have had my stapler stolen (my one coworker likes to play practical jokes…so I taped his phone receiver down to the phone base…so when it rang he pulled the whole thing off his desk ha!)  and… on a daily basis, I play dodge the flying rubberbands.  They’re large toddlers, I tell you. One thing that comes along in an office environment is huge quantities

Sweet Potato Chips and Guacamole

Sweet Potato Chips and Guacamole     You can use either a food processor or a sharp knife to slice the sweet potatoes into chip sized slices  (it takes just seconds to do in a food processor).   Lay potato slices out on a baking sheet, lightly coat with organic extra virgin olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt and bake at 450 degrees for 10 mins – take out and flip – and then do 8 to ten mins on the other side.     For the Guacamole, combine: 2 avocados half a cup of diced grape tomatoes juice of

Sunwarrior Protein Breakfast Cookie

Looking for a breakfast that packs a bit more of a punch to get your day started?  Try my version of a breakfast cookie made with Sunwarrior Raw Vegan Protein Powder! Feel free to eat this at any time of day, but I think this would put a smile on your face in the morning 🙂 *Note: This recipe is mostly raw.  I say mostly, because I used organic oats and not raw oats.  You could make this raw using raw oats or raw barley (soaked) if you so desire…but organic gluten-free oats are good with me!     This

Raw Is Sexy Presents: Cancer Squad

I know I haven’t posted on here recently, but it’s with good reason!  I have been working on putting together a cancer resource website that contains everything I’ve learned and discovered about treating cancer naturally using food as medicine.  I think everyone should have access to this information and everyone should be aware of the studies that exist that show the power of healing yourself naturally!  I spent months pouring over cancer research after my Mother was diagnosed this past Spring, and I am passionate about helping others win their fight against cancer.   So take some time and visit

Will the REAL Food Please Stand Up?!

Sounds like a silly thing to say, but it needs to be addressed.  I’ve got to rant about something for a moment. Lately I see commercial after commercial advertising food “products” that have “added fiber” or “added calcium” or “added protein” or “added vitamins”  or “added vitamin c”.  Some people see those and think, “ohhh! That’s healthier because it has extra fiber put into it.” No.  No my friends… the answer is NO. Stop for a moment and think about the produce section of your market or grocery store.  You see heaps of apples, tomatoes, greens, veggies, fruits… do you

Did you have a Raw and Sexy Weekend?

This weekend I experimented in the kitchen with one of my favorite un-cookbooks, I Am Grateful, which is the recipes from raw restaurant Cafe Gratitude in San Francisco.  I made this amazing “cheese” sauce (all raw and no dairy of course!) and it tasted fantastic.  Even got 2 enthusiastic thumbs up from the Mom! You’ll see photos and recipe info on here soon for that one!  I am super excited to share it.  Very easy to make and delishhh! What did you do this weekend that was Raw and Sexy???  In what ways did you add more health into your
