Raw Protein Bars

Introducing:  


Easy Shmeazy Raw Protein Bars!




To make these fabulous delights, you will need:


Raw Bar BASE:

  • 2 bananas (mash them with a fork into a bowl)
  • 2 cups of organic old fashioned oats  (you can always add a bit more if you want the bars to be more oaty – totally up to you and your personal tastes!)
  • 1 heaping tablespoon of raw almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
  • 1 light drizzle of raw agave (or stevia)
  • 1 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 2 scoops of a raw protein powder (this is optional) 

Those ingredients make up your BASE.  


Now…you can get fancy if you like and add things you have such as:


Raw Bar EXTRAS:

  • 2 tablespoons of raw chia seed powder (optional – this adds omega 3s)
  • Dried cranberries/raisins (optional)
  • Diced green apples (optional)
  • Some shredded coconut (optional)
  • 1/4 cup raw cacao nibs (optional)
  • Some flax seeds/sunflower seeds (optional)
  • Vanilla extract (optional)
Have fun selecting your ingredients and make this your own!  You can make many different versions of the bars once you have the base down!
 
Mash the bananas into a bowl and add the rest of your ingredients.  Mix well together.
 
Take a square dish or plastic container and line it with plastic wrap (this makes bar removal and clean up much easier)
 
Pour/Scoop the mixture into the containers and flatten it evenly with a fork:
 
 
Then fold the plastic wrap down so that the mixture is covered well, and place into the freezer for 30 minutes.
 
Remove from the freezer, uncover the mixture and with a knife, slice into bars or squares:
 

Then just lift the bars out of the container using the plastic wrap and separate them:

 
Now they are ready to be individually wrapped!  I wrapped them all up and placed them back into the container.  Then I put them back into the freezer to harden up a bit more.  You can store them in the freezer and take a couple out at a time to enjoy, or keep them in the fridge if you think you will be eating them all week.
These taste a million times better than any of the store bought bars and these are all natural and delicious!  Great to grab on-the-go or for an energy boost before a workout!  This is also a healthy, fun, and kid-friendly recipe, so feel free to make it with the little ones!

  4. Love the bars But I added dried blueberries /cranraisens/ cherries…lemon juice and lemon zest/ 1/2 cup applesauce….A little more sugar because of the fruit but filling …a hurried day energy snack plus….Thank you for your site ….love it too….
