The saying goes that an apple a day keeps the doctor away. I disagree. The science says it’s much more like this: A whole foods, plant based lifestyle keeps the doctor away. Fruits and veggies and greens and plants and whole grains and legumes…a whole BUSHEL of plant based goodness every day will keep the doctor away. Not only does a plant based lifestyle keep the doctor away, but it keeps the surgeon and oncologist away. It keeps diabetes, heart disease and cancers away. It keeps you feeling healthy, happy, energetic, strong, fit and sexy! I took this lovely assortment
When diving head first into a high smoothie/fresh juice filled week, it’s important to stock up and be prepared. Make sure that you have plenty of fresh fruits and veggies like: apples, bananas, melons, pears, dates, grapes, lemons, cucumbers, kale, celery, dulse, tomatoes, carrots, spinach. If you live in an area with rough winters, it may be hard to find these things fresh and organic. Using frozen fruit is totally fine! I buy bags of frozen organic blueberries, strawberries and raspberries at Trader Joe’s (they usually have good prices) or my local grocery store. Once you have a good
Breakfast. My favorite meal of the day. Who says breakfast can’t taste like dessert? Sunwarrior Warrior Blend raw plant based protein powder is by far my absolute favorite. I’ve tried so many other protein powders, including raw fermented brown rice proteins, but for some reason I’m pretty sensitive to those. The new Warrior Blend is made from hemp, coconut, pea, and cranberry and it tastes AHH-MAZING! So what’s in this pretty in pink smoothie? 1 Ripe Banana 1 cup of frozen raspberries 1 tbsp of shredded organic coconut 1 scoop of Sunwarrior Warrior Blend in Vanilla Spring water Just blend
I whipped this up the other day at random and it’s officially one of my favorites. What’s in it? 2 bananas 1/2 cup of frozen pineapple 1/2 a ripe avocado 2 tbsp of raw cacao powder spring water (I just eye-ball it so the smoothie isn’t too thin – it’s best to add a little if you aren’t sure, and then just add more until you have achieved your desired consistency.) Chocolate for breakfast? Yes. Please. Enjoy your day everyone!
Well, that’s because I’ve only made one so far using my beautiful, new, amazing, VITAMIX! I’ve been making smoothies and raw food for four years and I finally own a Vitamix. It’swortheverypenny… No more stopping the blender after a few seconds to un-stick the frozen fruit with a spoon. No more adding water to get things moving…and stopping…and starting…and starting again. This has 2 and a quarter horse power. That’s over TWO powerful Clydesdales inside my blender, smashing my frozen raspberries into a smooth silky heaven. Sure, I had to work to save to own this beauty, but now I don’t need to
