Go raw for RAWGUST!

Tomorrow is August 1st, which many in the veggie loving land like to refer to as RAWGUST.

A whole month of raw.

Now you may be thinking, that’s bananas!  That’s coconuts!  There is no way I can be raw for an entire month!  That’s thirty days you crazy woman!
You can participate in Rawgust at whatever level is comfortable for you….

You could be all raw all month and rawk your rawsome self day in and day out with fruits and veggies.
You could just be starting out and new to this whole “veggie thing” but you want to get on board.  You want to start making changes in your lifestyle and in your body, energy, vitality and inner fabulosity.  You want your cells to sparkle from the inside out!  The journey of a thousand steps begins with one.  Just one.  So make one meal a day raw.  Maybe it’s breakfast.  Fruits and smoothies are an easy thing to do in the morning to kickstart your day.
Maybe it’s lunch.  Maybe you have a salad bar at work and you can make an all veggie salad every day.  Maybe you decide to hit the market and get some fresh veggies and you make one giant salad to last you for a week of lunches.  Or maybe it’s dinner!  Maybe you have more time in the evening and you can whip up a salad, a green smoothie, cabbage wraps, or maybe it’s freaking hot out where you are and you just want to relax and eat a watermelon for dinner.    Pick one and stick with it!  I promise, you’ll find yourself eventually wanting to make 2 meals a day raw.  You’ll reach for more fruit.  You’ll reach for more veggies.  But start.  Just begin. 
Not feeling so great?  Have some extra weight you would like to see go  away?  Are your energy levels low?  Give Rawgust a shot.  Be as raw as you can every single day, for one month.
Visit your local market.  Pick up your favorite fruits.  On a budget?  Shop in season.  A lot is in-season right now since we are in the warmer months of the year.  In season and local produce is usually less expensive.   Get some frozen organic fruit for smoothies. 
Get your greens!  Spinach, kale, chard, collard greens, romaine – whatever you like!
Grab some melons!  It’s the melon season and I am so loving them right now.  Cantaloupes, watermelon, honey dew – these are filling and very hydrating on these hot summer days.
Grab some avocados – they’re great for smoothies, and they’re a healthy fat that keeps you feeling full! 
Drink your water.  A lot of us eat when we are actually thirsty.  If you are thirsty, you are dehydrated.  You should be drinking water throughout the day.  Your pee should be clear.  That’s right.  Clear.  J
