Overnight Oats with Chia Seed

Whipped up some delicious Overnight Oats with Chia Seed last night!

Just put 1/4 cup of chia, 2/3 cup of gluten free oats, cinnamon, 1 cup of water and 1 cup of chocolate hemp milk- in a mason jar, cover it and pop in fridge overnight.

You can add peanut butter, berries or mashed banana to it in the AM. Stir and enjoy! Breakfast is ready for you when you wake up! (This recipe easily serves 2-3 people or one person for 3 days).

Here is a close up of what it looked like this morning. It looks strange but it tastes delicious and will keep you feeling full!  It has a pudding like texture to it.

Did you know chia seeds were a staple food in the diets of Aztecs and Mayans? Chia actually got its name from the Mayan word for “strength”. Chia is considered a superfood because it has max nutrition! Add a couple tablespoons into your morning oatmeal or smoothie. Make a chia pudding (chia seeds, hemp milk and cinnamon is delicious esp with some mashed banana). Chia is high in fiber too and absorbs up to 12 times its own weight and expands to curb your appetite. Chia seeds are known for their ability to increase stamina and energy as well! Ounce for ounce, chia seeds have more omega-3 fatty acids than salmon!
