2016 RIS Holiday Wellness Challenge Winners

The tribe of amazing people in the Raw Is Sexy Private Members Community enjoy a wide variety of benefits, activities and challenges to keep them on track and motivated year round.  This past November, they participated in the Raw Is Sexy Holiday Wellness Challenge. They posted daily in our private group, completed workouts, shared healthy plant based recipes and stayed on track through the entire holiday season (with the exception of the holiday itself of course, in which we all love to indulge a bit). Easy Vegan Pumpkin Bread

Yes, friends, it’s that time again!  I whipped up this gluten free, vegan pumpkin bread recipe this morning with just a few ingredients.   Ingredients: 2 cups of gluten-free oats 1 can of organic pumpkin puree 3 tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice 1/2 tsp of sea salt 10 medjool dates (remove the pits) 1 scoop of vanilla plant based protein powder (I use Sunwarrior) 1/3 cup of rice milk Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Mix all ingredients together. Coat an oven safe dish with coconut oil so mixture doesn’t stick.  Spread mixture into an oven safe dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Blueberry Breakfast

  Did you know one serving of blueberries contains almost 25% of your daily requirement of vitamin C? Vitamin C is necessary for growth and development of tissues and promotes wound healing. Blueberries are also high in manganese. Manganese helps the body process cholesterol and nutrients such as carbohydrates and protein. They’re also a good source of dietary fiber. We all know what fiber does. 🙂 Now eat those blueberries!  

Black Bean Veggie Tacos

It doesn’t get more delicious than this! I’ve got your summertime veggie tacos right here. Smoothie Breakfast Bowl

A smoothie bowl is a fun way to change up your traditional smoothie and make it feel more like a hearty meal. I like to make my smoothies a bit thicker for this. Ingredients: 2 frozen ripe bananas 1 cup of fresh blueberries 1 handful of spinach 1 scoop of my Sunwarrior vanilla protein powder 1 cup of filtered water Blend all ingredients together.  Add more water if you want the smoothie to be thinner.  If you add too much and it becomes too thin, just add 1/3 of an avocado and that will thicken it right up.  You can also
